Antler Hill Veterinary Services bases all of our decisions around our core values of integrity, appreciation and family.

Antler Hill Veterinary Services strives to always practice veterinary medicine with integrity.  Our actions will demonstrate that we are honest, trustworthy, and have high moral regard.  In this way we hope to build strong connections with our team and clients.

Antler Hill Veterinary Services shows appreciation to our valued clients, business vendors, community and to our team.  We hope everyone we work with knows that we appreciate their contributions, their service, and the support of our business.

Antler Hill Veterinary Services values family.  This means two things for us.  Valuing family is demonstrated by encouragement of work/life balance for ourselves and our staff.  For our clients this means that we recognize, value and respect the family bond between our clients and their pets.

To further realize our core values of appreciation and family, our team limits after-hours services. We do this so we may spend more time volunteering in our communities and most importantly spend time with our families.

The Ritson-Bennett Family

Dr. Andrew Ritson-Bennett was born and raised in Innisfail.  Andrew has enthusiastically taken on the challenge of practicing as a mixed animal veterinarian since graduating from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon in 2010.

Andrew is passionate about the health and wellness of your family's pets. He always takes the time get get to know you and your family.  There is no shortage of dogs and cats in Dr. Andrews home, the animals certainly outnumber the people with 4 cats, 2 kangals- Rex & Rosie, 1 border collie - Zip,  and a flock of sheep!

You will find Andrew very knowledgeable and practical about cattle production and large animal medicine.  Andrew is driven to partner with producers to ensure they are meeting their operations goals.

In addition to time spent with his growing family, Andrew takes every opportunity to serve his community.   He currently serves as President of the Rotary Club of Innisfail, Chair of the Innisfail Rotary Golf Charity Classic, and was a past board member with the  Grey Wooded Forage Association and the Innisfail Farmers Bonspiel Committee.

Andrew also donates his time to various community programs such as 4H, the Innisfail and District Ag Society and Innisfail Library Learning Center.  Through these commitments Andrew has built relationships with many incredible people in Central Alberta and gets a great amount of fulfillment by being a part of building a great community!

The Scheck Family

Dr. Michael Scheck has worked as a mixed animal veterinarian in Innisfail for over twelve years.  During this time his clients have appreciated his commitment to providing personalized medical care that is in the best interest of his patients and clients.  Through his individualized approach to medicine, he has built meaningful relationships with the clients he serves.  Michael is well known in the veterinary community for his easy-going nature and applied medical talents.

Dr. Jaryn Scheck currently works at Olds College instructing in the Animal Health Technology Program, ensuring that new RVT's have the highest standards of care in place as they prepare to enter the veterinary profession.

The Scheck family integrates the core value of family into their daily lives.  They spend many hours camping, fishing, hiking and horseback riding together.  Occasionally Michael may even venture onto a horse - if you can find a fishing hole at the end of the ride. They'll be joined by their yellow lab- Rayne, and their adventure cat- Boots! Their other two cats- Ravenpaw and Mittens, prefer to stay in the comfort of their home.

The local community is also centered in the Scheck family life.  The Schecks have been involved with volunteering with local organizations such as Innisfail Minor Soccer, Junior Forest Wardens, St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Parent Council, and the Alberta Horse Trials Association.  Michael and Jaryn are admired for the example they set when it comes to valuing their family and community.

Pamela Veldman, RVT

Pam grew up outside of Lethbridge, spending every free minute she had out on the farm with her cousins and siblings. In 2017 she moved to Central Alberta to take the AHT program, and decided that the break from the Southern Alberta wind was too good to leave.

She currently has two fur kids, her family dog: a German Shorthaired Pointer named Blue, and her own dog: a Cane Corso with hydrocephalus named Moose.

Outside of the clinic you'll probably find Pam outside either hiking, rowing, fishing, camping, or kayaking with her dog. Otherwise she’s meeting friends for coffee, reading a book or just spending time with her family.

Pamela is finding that a highlight of her job is getting to know clients and patients, as well as the variety of cases she sees. One of Pam's special interests in veterinary medicine include small animal rehab.

As a recent graduate, Pam is grateful to have found a clinic that is so evidently passionate about quality patient care and meaningful client relationships, and is excited to continue growing as a tech alongside such a knowledgeable team.
